ABOUT ME

Hello!
I am a junior double majoring in Public Relations and Theater at the University of Southern California.

During my childhood, I lived intermittently in California and Israel (I studied in grade school and middle school in both countries). This experience has enriched my life significantly. It has resulted in my flexibility to easily adjust to different cultures and circumstances and embrace opportunities that present themselves.

My creative spirit and social nature are what ultimately led me to pursue my double major in theater and public relations. I attended Thelma Yellin, the national high school of arts in Israel, and during those four years, my life revolved around the theater department and my class’s productions. I had the privilege of collaborating with fellow passionate storytellers and performing in multiple theatre productions, including the national tour of The Sound of Music.

After graduation, I proceeded to serve the mandatory two-year military service for Israeli citizens as a museum tour guide at the Israel Defense Forces History Museum. I was assigned this prestigious position, which I viewed as my "one-woman show", thanks to my public speaking skills, good interpersonal communication skills, passion for history, and fluent command of Hebrew, English, and conversational French. The museum had a diverse range of visitors. The greatest challenge of my position was presenting a complex and often controversial narrative to audiences with a multitude of perspectives.

Throughout my service, I became an expert on captivating my audience and leading discussions in a respectful manner, which sparked my interest in pursuing a career in public relations. Adept public relations professionals know how to address provocative topics while presenting narratives objectively and communicating with diverse audiences. I felt I had the essential and foundational skills necessary to excel in this field thanks to my theatre background. I was further aided in this endeavor because copywriting, social media, and marketing are like a second language in which I'm proficient. For many years I've been the "go-to" person among my family and friends to write greeting cards (both in Hebrew and English), create clever and witty captions for social media posts, and help with student council campaigns. A career in creative strategy or copywriting both appeal to me and the public relations’ curriculum is preparing me for these goals.

My double major allows me to foster my creativity in both business-related and artistic realms. I perceive this combination of majors as the best of both worlds — I am gaining practical and artistic skills in both fields that would translate successfully to various industries. I am also constantly developing and honing my storytelling skills, whether it is on stage or narratives that shape a business’s agenda. In addition to the versatile set of skills I am acquiring in my programs, double majoring has significantly improved my organization, time-management, and multi-tasking skills. I believe this combination of majors will open many opportunities and provide me with valuable skills for success in many spheres.

When I'm not working on my academic work or other commitments, I enjoy improv theatre, swimming, and spoiling my adorable niece and nephew.
